We’re giving away a two-night stay at One Hundred Shoreditch, the East London hotel that’s a favourite of local arty crowds and culture-seeking travellers. The prize includes two nights in a studio loft for two guests, with breakfast and drinks in Seed Library or The Rooftop. Return UK rail travel is covered up to a total of £150.
One Hundred Shoreditch is the latest hotel from Lore Group (Sea Containers London, Pulitzer Amsterdam) and opened in March 2022. The hotel’s design reflects how this patch of East London has developed in recent years, mirroring the grown-up feel this neighbourhood has become known for as artists, star chefs and renowned brands continue to descend on Shoreditch.
For a property housing 258 bedrooms and suites, One Hundred Shoreditch feels remarkably contained – something mirrored by the attentive, personalised service employees are known for. Bedrooms have a contemporary feel, far from the pokey spaces often found elsewhere in London. Entry-level studio rooms have plenty of room for a superb night’s sleep, plus space to work and unwind after days exploring all the neighbourhood and beyond has to offer. Higher up, studio lofts are flooded with light – unwind over coffee while peeping at the streets below from Juliette balconies.
In keeping with the neighbourhood’s ethos, food and drink is taken extremely seriously. The street-level Coffee Shop is the place to be for lunchtime catch-ups over freshly-baked pastries and locally sourced coffee, while the Lobby Bar is best for cosying up with beer, classic cocktails and burgers. In the basement, internationally renowned mixologist Ryan Chetiyawardana oversees the curious bar, Seed Library. Ryan – AKA Mr Lyan – perfected his craft when he launched White Lyan in 2013, where he insisted on using no perishable ingredients in the name of sustainability. Wednesday through Sunday, the bar comes alive with chatter fuelled by classic cocktails, soundtracked by DJs.
Otherwise, take to the skies. The Rooftop at One Hundred Shoreditch is one of East London’s most sought-after event spaces, thanks to its stylish interiors and unbeatable views towards the capital. Champagne pops and margarita shaking can be heard whatever the hour, and brunch on the rooftop is a highlight of any stay – indulge in mascarpone-smothered French toast, truffle-topped wild mushroom tacos or homely Turkish eggs.
One Hundred Shoreditch has partnered with two charities as part of its commitment to the local community. Spitalfields Crypt Trust is an East London organisation that assists people facing homelessness and addiction, while Refuge provides specialist support to those experiencing domestic violence and abuse. This community spirit also means the hotel is a hub of activity year-round, aside from the foodie crowds that stop off for a bite to eat and craft cocktails before experiencing Shoreditch’s nightlife.
