Condé Nast Traveller joined forces with Rioja to celebrate and explore the much adored regions' finest wines. Guests were welcomed to Soho's buzzy Sucre restaurant, the Argentinian open-fire restaurant which boasts chef-restaurateur Fernando Trocca at its helm.
A wine tasting hosted by BBC's Saturday Kitchen, Jane Parkinson, kicked off the evening, with a variety of Riojas on offer, from the sparkling Santalba Bruta Natura Reserva to the conversation starter Bodegas Baigorri, a unique rose Rioja.
Once palettes were suitably warmed up, the evening moved into the main dining room of Sucre, a spectacular space complete with chandeliers made from decanters, a very fitting fixture. With Fernando Trocca on a rare visit to London, guests delighted in his succinct explanations of dishes, matched with Jane Parkinson's vibrant passion for the artfully paired Riojas.
